Teach Me how to Pray. Many young Christians meaning, once you have denied yourself, and accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior are confused on how to pray for a more fervent prayer. This information will help you jump start to a better Prayer Life and what you should focus. Never feel that the prayers you are praying is absolutely wrong, no its right because at least you tried. These are just the ways you should do it when you fully deny yourself and want a better relationships with God.

Adoration
Always give God praise. We begin our prayer by praising God for who He is. We can praise God for being an awesome God, a loving God, a holy God, merciful, just and full of compassion.
Verse: Psalms 98, 100, 103, 145
Confession
This is when we apologize for the times when we have not lived as we should. God is a forgiven God and He wants you to trust in Him
Verse: 1 John 1:19 If we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from every wrong.
Thanksgiving
This is about saying thank you to God for what He has done for us, will do, and continues to do in our lives.
Verse: I Thessalonians 5: 18
Supplication
This means being humble and making your request known for help. At the end of our prayer, we can ask God to help us in difficult situations or times of need. We can ask Him to work in someone else’s life, or pray for the big problems all around us.

THE PRAYER HAND
This is a good gesture to allow you to have your complete focus on God and having faith over what you are praying for.
1st finger
This is your index finger or pointing finger. Pray for the people who help you grow as a Christian, who will point you in the way to be more like Jesus. Such as a small group leader, youth pastor, and church minister.
Verse: Col 4: 2-4
2nd finger
This is your strongest finger. Pray for all those people with power and have a lot of responsibility such as the government and civic leaders.
Verse: 1 Tim 2: 2
3rd finger
This is commonly known as the ring finger. Pray for those you love and who are close to you. Pray for your parents and friends.
Verse: 1 Corinthians 13 4-7
4th finger
This is your little finger. Pray for those who are weak or helpless, or who are old and infirm. Pray for those who you know who are sick.
Verse: James 5:13-15
Thumb
Pray for those who are furthest away from you. Pray for churches around the world, for missionaries and for Christians who are persecuted for their faith.
Verse: Ephesians 6:18
Whole hand
Finally, pray for yourself. Admit the things you know you have done wrong and receive God’s peace and forgiveness. Offer your hands to serve God through your life, at home, school or work.

THE LORDS PRAYER
This was a model prayer Jesus gave to his disciples it includes:

*Praying for God’s will to be done *Confessing sins
*Asking for forgiveness
*Ask that others will forgive
*Asking for daily help and strength to overcome temptation.
Matthew 6: 9-13
(Jesus said) Pray like this,
Our Father in heaven, may your name be honoured
*Tell God how you feel and how can you honour God’s name.
May your Kingdom come
*Community change to be more like what God wants?
*What can I do today to help bring God’s kingdom to my community?
May your will be done here on earth, just as it is in heaven.
*Pray for God’s will to be done on earth.
*Look at the daily news and pray.
*What is God asking me to do today?
and forgive us our sins
*Always ask for God’s forgiveness every day
just as we have forgiven those who have sinned against us
*It is important to forgive others who have hurt us.(Matthew 6: 14-15)
*Is there anyone I need to forgive today?
And don’t let us yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil.
*Ask God to help us recognize temptation and gives the strength to overcome it.
*1 Corinthians 10: 13
* Ask God to help you do the right thing today.
